I can flood this room with whatever volume I choose.
Let my machinations spill from my sleep.
Quiver falling shallow - “I don’t think he can breathe,”
“His pale blood face resonates histamine.”
Snaking through a membranous labyrinth; I called, but it was lost in a tangle of submerged root and the crash of gasping shoals.
Stack the pebbles geometric that reflect the falling sky.
Escaping to idyllic swaths, examine pointillism on my back.
Bellows rush to my bellowing hushed, sprouting my lungs and making me blush.
Toronto band Respire deliver a post-hardcore tour de force on the largest scale possible, orchestrally rich and incessantly uncompromising. Bandcamp New & Notable Jan 6, 2021

Certainly a controversial direction for the band, but this album ultimately rests as my favorite from TTNG. The technical mastery of their previous albums is still present here along with some very thought provoking and philosophical lyrics. I may not always agree with the lyrical messaging, but this is an album which rewards careful listening. Syobnaf
